Pascual Pérez lives in the Tronconada community near the municipality of Salto de Agua Chiapas. He's been a Scolel´te participant since 2007, and now he also promotes the program to others and is also involved as technician. Pascual has planted 295 trees (species include Guanacastle, Cedar and Maculis) over half a hectare under the project's "Taungya" agroforestry system. Like many of the project's successful smallholder participants, Pascual views his tree plot as something he can pass on to his children and grandchildren. So far, his trees have captured 164 tons of CO2 and he has earned $374.
