Carbon Offsets To Alleviate Poverty (COTAP.org) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit which empowers individuals and organizations to take action on both climate change and global poverty. COTAP counteracts your unavoidable CO2 emissions through certified forestry projects that improve livelihoods for rural communities where incomes are < $2/day.

Important Terms:- This offer is open only to participants of the 2017 Napa Valley Marathon who offset 10 or more tonnes ($99+) through this page by March 15, 2017.
- Limit one free COTAP.org running shirt per participant.
- Fulfillment. COTAP utilizes PayPal, and COTAP will forward sizing information to the email associated with your donation made via PayPal on this page. Participants must respond with their sizing information by March 22, 2017. Shirts will be mailed out beginning approximately April 5, 2017.

Where Your Money Goes
Your tonnes will be evenly allocated to our projects and you will receive a detailed offset acknowledgement like this one. Your tonnes will be included in our public carbon credit retirements on the Markit Environmental Registry like this. You can track COTAP’s progress and download projects’ annual reports, which contain detailed accounting of payments to communities, in our Transparency section.
